Need help on creating finances for my fictional teams!

So I've created a baseball league based in the UK with 16 teams and pretty much have the "bones" of the save (I update with a quicksave in what I consider big edits) with the naming, logos, and minor affiliates. I plan on keeping it an inaugural draft to to give the option for an online league later on or switch it up and create my own players from scratch.

With that being said, I noted that all the finances are at $0 even with me setting up a $100 million average budget across the league. I guessed that it would fill in later when I simmed and it did after my test inaugural draft. But since I drafted a young team that specifically didn't have anyone with enough major league option years to warrant a big contract, the game gave me the smallest budget.

It was impressive, seeing the game budget according to what the team would draft but it left me wanting to setup the financial side of each team prior so that they would draft in the fashion to keep within budget. I'm looking for insight on some things:

1. Will the AI do the inaugural draft with the budget set for them?

2. Is there anything "gamebreaking" that I should avoid when setting the finances?

3. Should I just set the market sizes, budgets, etc. manually and everything will fall into place?

In past fictional setups I’ve done it seems like the budget is based on the players drafted.

To keep a team from ending up with a huge budget from drafting a ton of old players, I‘s into settings and erase service time for all of the players before the draft.

Downside to this is everyone is a rookie and it throws the league off for a bit so I’d sim 15-20 years into the future to solve that.

Also, reset the teams to their desired market sizes after the draft.

On the inaugural draft screen there is an option to base budgets on the team market size.

Thanks for the replys. I've spent the week fiddling and play testing to see the financials. I'll probably keep simming the league while having the quickstart to go back to if I find a more optimal baseline.
