Lightbulb OOTP Go 23 - Status Update!

Hey everybody,

so we have been asked a lot recently what the status of the new version of OOTP Go is. In a nutshell:

- There will be a new app, called OOTP Baseball Go 23.
- This app will replace OOTP Baseball Go on the app stores once it launches. You will still be able to download the old version though, but it won't be available to new customers.
- OOTP Go 23 will only allow access to Perfect Team 23, not prior versions.
- We are working on moving in-app purchases of historical seasons over to the new app, but there are technical issues and this may not happen. Purchases of the 2021 MLB & KBO seasons do not carry over. PT22 purchases won't either, of course.
- There is no timetable for the launch of OOTP Go 23 yet, but we are working hard to launch it this Spring.

We'll keep you posted on the progress.

Thanks for your patience!
Markus & the entire OOTP Team

Thank you for the update Markus. OOTP is my favorite game due to its simpler vibe and ability to run on my iPad in bed. I play it nearly nightly. Thank you for this.

Something must have changed in last year since previously you said there wouldn't be new versions just updates to the game.

Unlikely but will saves carry over like with computer version?

This seems like a flip-flop and I am very unhappy. MLB Manager // OOTP released every year and I buy all the seasons and then the game becomes unsupported and I have to buy the new one. I was JAZZED when I saw GO! since it seemed to be the ONE app, like your candy crush, that stays in place, records your progress over multiple updates and changes, but no new downloads, no extra money.

Now you’re all back-tracking and adding 23 on it to get more money. This is very uncool. And not at all what you signaled with the start of Go! All the perfect team users will go to the new app, and all my purchased seasons will be on the old? How long until you lock it out like MLBM17? The plan was to have one static game where you just bought the new seasons and you introduce the new perfect cards every season WHAT GIVES, WHAT THE HELL GUYS WHAT ARE YOU DOING

We had to change plans because we were forced to change backend providers for PT.

But, nothing stops you from playing historical seasons in the old version of OOTP Go, nobody forces you to buy them in OOTP Go 23. So essentially, nothing changes except for the fact that you have to keep a copy of the old OOTP Go on your device if you want to play your purchased historical games.

Thanks Markus. Since I want to keep my save going I can play PT on my computer and use the current addition of Go. My question is IF there are any updates or additions will both versions be updated or only Go 23?

I'm guessing since they will be delisting GO 1.0 that it won't get the updates

Yeah but everyone will be playing on PT 23, so all our card collections start over? Are you going to release Go, every year? I thought the plan for go was to be just one app with no year attached that just gets updated? I know nothing stops us from having both, but it’s really annoying that I’ll have to jump to one app to play historical purchased seasons and then a new app to play new seasons and PT

I understand everyone has their opinions and right to vent.

But I ask please don’t ruin this for everyone. I’m just happy to get an app to be able to use on my phone with updates and a new roster. Last thing I want to see is them say this isn’t worth it with people getting annoyed with quite honestly minor inconveniences.

Markus thank you for making sure we have an app to enjoy I just appreciate that.

I would rather not spend my money on cards and seasons only for them to become obsolete, so no, I will not be silent with my feedback from the fear of them taking the game away, that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard

If PT is the same as Ultimate team you were going to have to restart with PT 23 anyways.

Why are you even posting if you’re just guessing what’s going on?

OOTP GO! with PT was going to be the only app any of us ever needed on mobile
Now they’re going back to yearly releases with OOTP GO! 23 and 24 and 25 and will keep making more apps and discontinuing old ones in 5 years on the versions we bought all the seasons on or spent on packs in PT only to have the new one come out and all the users jump to the new one. Had a great idea but this way makes more money, like if MLB THE SHOW just had one game per console and then updated the rosters every year for free.

But why would you do that when you can make everyone buy another 60 dollar game every year

Then don’t. Take your hiatus and say goodbye. And about the slapping, if you only knew who you were talking too board warrior.
