Need a tutorial on importing historical players.
I have not done this enough and I forget.
I need to make cheat sheets. Is there tutorials online for more advanced features like importing historical players?

Your best bet is to search previous years versions sections. I have answered this question before on how to use a text file. Probably 20 or 21. Save the information by copying and pasting and make your own tutorial. The manual does have some info. http://manuals.ootpdevelopments.com/...orical_players

Here's the format it needs to be in to get them to the FA pool (.txt) if doing a huge list of players, then as commish, you can go to the player editor if you want them on a particular team.
bRef name extension at the end of the website page for them and then the year. If you want them going directly to the team, the team abbrv as it is in the game after the year should do it as the import screen indicates. If just doing a handful of players, but that bRef code in the top box on the import screen. The database you want is the historical_database.odb Let us know how it goes. There are step-by-step more explicit instructions out there on various threads we can point to, if needed. |

Here's the thread with some of the step by steps. Bunch of pdfs posted should help find anything we forgot to mention. While the goal of the OP on this thread was slightly different, the import steps are the same.

baseball-reference.com/players/s/suttodo01.shtml You want the part before the ".shtml" EDIT: and yes, you put the year you want them to appear in the game. It's as if they walked out of the proverbial cornfield being that year's edition of themselves.
