OOTP 23 review? / any feedback from those with the game
Haven’t seen a thread discussing the game for those of you who purchased. Is there a noticeable difference btw OOTP 22 and 23?
I was alittle underwhelmed by the announced additions and would love to hear from people who have the game before buying the new edition |

I'd say it's mostly noticeable when you play out games. The 3D engine and animations have improved, and some things (stealing, holding runner) have become more realistic.
Apart from that there are no big changes IMO that are worth the upgrade alone. I see the purchase more as a continuos support for the devs. It's a very niche product and therefore they need all the support. |

Raniel3 nailed it on the head here. There’s no “big” update this year. But, in my opinion, there are enough small features to make it worth the purchase. Alternate uniforms are huge for me, as well as improved 3D gameplay. Uniform textures are also easier to work with IMO, and your old creations still look fine in the profile pictures and at a distance in game. Although I would recommend redoing most of them, if not all if you are able.
Aside for the graphical stuff, a lot of small stuff has been added. For example, a dedicated scouting tab. It may not seem big, but it streamlines what you could do in the past. And the shop a player function is SO much better. If you’re a new player, this is the version to get. Although I haven’t looked at them, I’m sure the in game tutorials were well done. OOTP definitely has a huge learning curve and while in part that’s still there, the tutorials make it a hell of a lot easier to get into the game. All in all, I upgraded from 22 and am very satisfied with my purchase.

I've played a few games with the beta build, and I'm liking it so far. The only question I have so far is if realistic spring training setups have been added. I want my Grapefruit and Cactus Leagues, please.
