Are my FaceGen's correct? Everyone looks the same.
This is a Quick Start from build 41. Very few have much semblance to the actual player. Some (Verdugo, Hernandez, Story, Wacha, Malbec, and Vasquez) almost look to be the same person. Maybe I have something wrong?

It's either the resolution or Macs are getting progressively worse showing facegens. Windows or Mac? Screen resolution?
Here's my opening day. Not precisely the same screen angle but you'll get the gist. Did a normal and close-up view. |

Wow. Yours are great. Now I know I have something wrong. I have a Mac and I'm running at 3360x1890. I did not have this problem in OOTP 22. FaceGens were fine on the same machine.

I think the game is forced to run low-res on Macs which degrades the facegens. I don't know why. Something about the full screen and how it runs. I'm sure someone will clarify. Was just about to post a zoomed-in Wacha and Otto Lopez (as I noticed late you are playing Toronto and those weren't on my screen). But this is how facegens ought to look. I think if others see the thread, there will be a clear divide between Mac and PC users based on your feedback.

I tried manually selecting the PhotoFit file for a few players and then I just tried a force update across the board and no change.

I have friends on the forum that have Macs and we compare facegens (the literal same fg file) and there is a material difference between PC and Mac. I wish everyone could see them rendered as they are in my posts. Like the logos, uniforms, etc, the faces - be it a photopack or a well done facegen - can really add to a fantastic game.

Hard to believe it's a rendering of the same file but it is.

The ideal photo to make a facegen from is essentially a mugshot. Straight on and no smiling. If the old fg's had more variance such that you could tell them apart it was likely that they were smiling or otherwise, to a Windows user, wonky. The very things that make a Mac user see a differentiating feature between players (esp. if facial hair doesn't render well) - like a super wide smile or an extra heavy face like Devers, makes it awful on Windows because so much of that detail ought not be so prominent. Not sure I'm explaining that well but since some of the players you mentioned in the first post are in a mugshot pose - if you wash away all the detail, they are just all whitish, no detail faces in a mugshot pose and same-ish for that reason, having no detail.

I'm a Mac user and I'm having the same issue as well. All the facegens are low res. They all look the same with little detail.

I'm getting something different. FGs all over the shop size-wise... this is after resetting them and refreshing the game.
EDIT refreshing all FGs seems to fix this, although that might not be a suitable solution for all.

Facegens on a mac always came out slightly less detailed, but nothing like this. Here's a thread photo of Lansdowne's Reggie Jackson, pretty similar to how it appeared on my mac for OOTP 22, and here's how the same Reggie looks on 23. Lost his glasses while putting on lighter makeup, after shaving.

I'm a Mac user and seeing Facegen problems as well. I tried to generate new facial features for some Latino players and everyone of them look European white. In previous versions of the game OOTP 21/22, Latino face choices were much more realistic ranging from light skinned to darker skinned.
