Arena names in Historical
I'm playing a Historical League starting in 1980-81, and I've noticed a few peculiarities. I'll start with arena names.
Several of the teams are playing in the correct arena, but the wrong name for the era: Oilers: Rexall Place (Northlands Coliseum) Whalers: XL Center (Hartford Civic Center) Blues: St. Louis Arena (Checkerdome) Additionally, the Nordiques are listed at Centre Vidéotron (didn't open until 2015) - they should be playing at Colisée de Quebec. Is FHM8 not capable of tracking the name changes for arenas in the default database? Even if not, the entry for the Nordiques definitely should be changed. |

Yeah, we changed the database in 8 to allow the arenas to change names (and some other data) on the historical dates, but it happened fairly late in development so there wasn't time to get all the historical data into the database. On my list of database jobs for for 9.

That’s cool - thanks!! Do teams getting new arenas (not just name changes) switch at the right time?
Also, the Quebec one should be changed in the database in any case - they never played in that building since they were long gone before it opened. |

![]() I noticed in '91 the Oilers are playing in Rexall Place, which was definitely not a thing. |
