Mutliplayer - GMs stuck on "Loading Continents" When downloading the latest league file via FTP
everyone in the leagues that use FTP Upload and Download are getting stuck when using "Download and Update League file" after the latest update
the update hangs on "Load Continents" 100% of the time. and always at 24% this is a game breaking issue for multiplayer. one example attached. You uploaded 0 and downloaded 79613 kbytes. 221 Logout. 2022-04-06 13:01:14 the database is: open 2022-04-06 13:01:14 the database is: closed 2022-04-06 13:01:14 STORYLINE_ENGINE::reset - Closing storylines and ongoing stories objects 2022-04-06 13:01:17 != 8 nothing after !=8 im going to guess that last line in the debug is supposed to point to a value that's now null or undefined (something does not equal 8 that should.)

We've found the problem and think we have a fix; it appears to have been an issued related to the late change that was made in .102 to prevent the unintended replacement of ftp data. It's too late in the week at this point to do a full hotfix to address it (and we'd prefer to wait a few more days to see if there are any other urgent issues), but we've set up a separate open beta (build 8.7.103) that multiplayer Steam users can access to fix the problem for now. Unfortunately, this will only work for the Steam PC version right now, Mac users and PC users with other versions will have to update their league files manually until the full fix is available.
To update the game with the multiplayer fix in Steam, right-click on FHM8 in your Steam Library and select Properties, then go to the Betas tab. Enter the beta access code "multiplayer8" and click Check Code. That will add the option "multiplayer_fix - Temporary Multiplayer Fix" to the opt-in dropdown just above. Select that, and the game should auto-update to the new version (if it doesn't update, or the new option doesn't appear on the dropdown, you may need to restart the Steam client to get it to work.) There is no other change in this build aside from that fix, so there's no reason for anyone other than the multiplayer users to download that build. |

Seems like this problem has reappeared for us in the iNHL.
We have just moved over to using the in-game UL/DL feature and everyone is experiencing the same issue, stuck at "Loading Continents", 24%. Forcing the game down and restarting seems to work. |

Same thing on FHM 7 for me. Bought 8, no luck there either. Might have to wait till online improves before buying again.
