Players stuck on International Duty

So before the playoffs, when the games matter the most, my star player left for international duty. Players from other teams also lost their star players. However, they won't return for it... even though the tournament ended long time ago.
I saw in another thread that you could try to "retire and unretire" a player, which would solve the problem. I tried that, but now I can't even dress the player (that alternative wont show up in the right click-menu).

Any solution? This sucks because I had so much fun this season. I think this is a bug that has been in the game from the start, unfortunately.

I'm playing with IF Malmö Redhawks in the SHL and the tournament was Beijer Hockey Games.

If you upload the save (instructions here), we can try to fix that for you (although you might want to first double-check the player edit screen to make sure the player's Current Team and Contracted Team are both set to your team.)

Thanks. Uploaded as "MAlm.lg.zip".

Any possibility of a permanent fix? Unfortunately, all Swedish teams are affected by this when the Beijer Hockey Games occur. So I guess it will happen all upcoming seasons (and all new saves). A playoff without the leagues best players isnt too fun.

For some reason the "International duty"-symbol was removed from all national team players when I choose "Save Game as..." and chose a different file name. Not sure if it was a fluke or why that solved the issue.

Yeah, when I look at the save now everything seems to be as it should - I can dress every player on your roster, and nobody's left on INT status with the Swedish national team. Odd, just saving it under an alternate name shouldn't have any effect at all on that. But at least it worked, I'll see if we can figure out exactly why.
