Playing 1927 Season - pitching ratings way off

playing ootp 22. For the first time I created a historical 1927 replay.
After playing the Yankees for a few games with my pitching being bombed I switched to commisioner mode and looked at the internal ratings of the
pitchers by pitch type. They all in the single digits with some being higher than the potential rating. A bunch are rated for knuckle curves which I doubt were a thing in 1927. The batter ratings look OK. Can't figure what if anything I did wrong.

For starters...

- Recalc on/off. If on, 1-year, 3-year, 5-year.
- Development on/off. If on, Talent Change Randomness setting.

Part 3 - This is my first attempt at a historical replay and wanted just a one year stand alone replication of the season. I was also surprised to see Bob Meuesel rated with a mediocre arrm . He had one of the strongest arms in the league.

At a quick glance, your settings look good. What I would do is save a copy of your game, and then advance the game - without immersing yourself into it - to the end of the season and see how the results look.

If the pitching ratings are off the league will still perform historically due to the modifiers file. If only a few pitchers are off they will not perform historically. If all pitchers are off proportionally they will perform historically.

Wow, I hadn't checked for weeks. Oct 9 2024 its 79,561. Why do people use different players, different lineups, different strategy, development, talent change randomness, and the development lab, but judge the game on whether it produces historical statistics?
