Face Gen Files

So, I'm just migrating to OOTP22 now, and, I'm not seeing accurate face gen files.

How are people generally making this work? I don't see the usual from past versions (sub-folder for fg etc) - I only see this file: qlmLicense.xml

Is there a substantial change to setup in OOTP22, or did my license key not work?

Should I be able to import/overwrite the fg file, or is the add-ons function working again/is that a better way to get the face gen images loaded?

Thanks; but, I'm a little unclear: are you suggesting that I use one of those links and copy as the server in Add Ons central?

If so, the address is too long/not taking: I receive a parsing error.

I think I have the files already, I just don't know how to best 'apply' them in OOTP22.

Do you meant that your FG folder is empty or that you don't locate it? If it's the second option and you got the game from Steam the folder isn't in the document folder as it was before. Check the picture for the location...

Also the name convention isn't the same anymore... it went from John_Doe to the BBref ML ID, so many of your old FGs won't work.

I can't locate it. Referencing your picture, there is only 1 file I see under OOTP22: qlmLicense.XML

And I did not purchase through Steam

Document file maybe? The last time I bought directly was OOTP15 so I forgot where the file are stored outside of Steam...

Should be Documents>Out of the Park Developments>OOTP Baseball 22>fg_files if you used the default folders.

Simple solution. Use the search function in windows know as windows explorer or file explorer. Click on "This PC" icon (Win10) or right click on the Start icon and click on 'search'. Search for 'fg_files'. This will search all hard drives.

Yeah, that's where the file is/how it looks for all of my previous versions. But, when I drill down to OOTP Baseball 22, the only file I see underneath is that XML file. I should not that I have this loaded on a Mac.

I'll probably try copying a fg_files folder into that anyway and see what happens.

OK, I did find the file by going into file/settings/advanced in OOTP and opening the customized data folder. Odd that the folders/files aren't displayed when I go into the my finder/application support.

Still curious what those of you using historical face gens are doing to work around the change in naming conventions.

Most of them use the correct minor id system... I should know since I'm a contributor, now maybe the main file is old but as I said most are correct... some errors here and there but we slowly working on it as we submit new and better FGs... this is why you should get what is post in the main thread and the LansdowneSt thread too.

I don't really know how often and at which frequency the main file is updated.

Don't need a work around. The game will first search for a player's MiLB ID, then his MLB ID, and then the old naming convention i.e. Babe_Ruth.

Not sure I understand looking at this from in the game. You're only going to be able to see the first 1,000 files, which probably won't even get you through players with first names starting with the letter "A". Want to help, but kind of confused here.
