Back to the Future?

If I go back and play an older version, OOTP16 for example, is there any way to import newer players that weren't a part of the baseball universe at that time, like Adley Rutschman? Obviously, Adley would not be in the player file for the 16 version of the game, but is there any way to import him or do I have to build him from scratch?

I'm leaning from scratch but if you put the import to the 22 Master.cvs or minors.odb you could always try that

If they never made the majors but have a minor league ID on Baseball Reference then you should be able to import them.
Otherwise you’ll have to make them from scratch if they aren’t in the database
