Custom Tournament Problems

I instituted a pre-season tournament in a custom game between five of my junior leagues before my first season but there were some issues. The biggest was that the championship finished without a winner, it was declared a 3-3 tie on total goals. I thought I set it to one game knockout but I guess not and there were ties in a few games as well for some reason.

Another issue was that not all teams played the same number of games in the round robin. Many played 3, others played 2 and one of them only got 1 game.

Finally, some of the tournament's games, mainly the bracket portion, were played after the regular season began.

Upon further review, the total goals label means nothing since it did use single-game knockout although 3 of the knockout stage games ended in ties, one in the quarters, one in the semis and the championship game. None of those games went to OT and, if it means anything, they all involved the same team.

This is more minor but some of the shot totals were bizarre. One game had no shots in the first period for either team, damn that neutral zone trap, and another had one team outshot 16-5. I don't know if it's related but almost every player had an offensive game rating under 10 in all of the games I investigated from the tournament. The only difference was a guy with 1:20 of ice time and had a 50.

Can you upload the save? I think we're going to need to have a look at the exact details of the tournament setup to see what's going wrong there.

Looks like the missing games in the round-robin are ties, which aren't being recorded properly in the standings. But there also seem to be additional problems with this specific setup that are resulting in the teams in one group playing an extra game and the playoff stage not completing, likely because it extended too long and would overlap into the regular seasons of some/all of the leagues. And I see the odd stats in the games as well; I think the tournament may be using the wrong per-game settings for individual games in the classic engine. Going to have to investigate a bunch of things here.

Just out of curiosity, would I be able to continue the game while you look at that or should I wait?

Probably best to wait, we're doing some testing of the fixes now but it won't take effect until the next update.

Am I going to have to start a whole new game after the update or will this fix my current game?

Still testing, but it seems to be working for saved games so far except for one fix which isn't working properly for either.
