I think this is a known topic, but I´d like to raise it up again:
I´m currently on a cup run with SJS in FHM 8 historic mode, but miss the emotions transported from FHM in case of news (especially in the PlayOffs)

There could be
a) previews of each upcoming playoff round
b) reviews of each round (biggest upsets, hot players, ...)
c) review of the whole playoffs

d) monthly reviews in regular season (hot teams, cold teams)

What do you think about this?

Generally speaking, more news equals more immersion. So yeah, agree in principle. That said, it just has to be implemented properly so some players don't feel overwhelmed.

I've been a fan of FHM in historical mode since FHM 3, and my observations are as follows FHM should focus on making the basis of the game more realistic by that I mean more realistic stats to deal with the 1 point losses (OTL) that appeared in 2000-01, 83 years after the birth of the NHL so when I play the 1917-18 season and the goalies get overtime lost it annoys me a lot, and goons almost become recipients of the Lady Bing, the basis of this game should be realistic stats and make additions as you suggest.

Yep 100% agree would love more news of this type. League wide analysis, rankings, previews and playoff series news items would add a heap immersion!

Great suggestion, I've mentioned this previously and the game needs a lot more media items like this to improve immersion.

I've mentioned a few times that I don't understand how the game news barely mentions the Stanley Cup Playoffs but the Olympics and World Cup get full news item coverage. There isn't even a notification that you've actually made the playoffs. It's always seemed odd to me. I'd love for at least a handful of mentions to be added. I think about it every time I get to the end of a season and see news about World Cup results during the Playoffs.

Yeah, makes it feel a bit flat.

Hopefully they'll take this on board. I absolutely love the FHM series but find a lot of my posts here seem to be negative because I'm so frustrated with how much better this game could be.
