What League Files Can I Delete?

Hello there! I currently play OOTP22 between a desktop PC and a laptop. I'm constantly zipping up the league and copying it over to the other machine. I'm in year 18 and my zip file is approaching 600MB and takes a while to zip up and unpack. I'm just curious as to what files I can delete that won't effect me too much?

The way I sim it looks like I have a ton of box scores I don't need. I really don't need all of the news stories from years ago either. Can you point me directly to which directories I can find files I can get rid of to make my process of zipping and unzipping faster? Are there any other files I could get rid of? Any info/feedback is greatly appreciated!

You can address some of this on the Global Settings panel, right side under AUTO-SAVE & LOG SETTINGS...

Not sure if you have minor leagues or just major leagues, but under Save Box Scores from... you have some options. In addition, box scores generally overwrite each year, so your box scores folder shouldn't really be growing each year unless you are adding minor leagues as time goes by.

You can choose to Keep news logs... from the last 10 years, the last 2 years, or keep All or none. Same thing applies for Injury logs and transaction logs...

You can find your news stories, etc., under a folder with a path something like this: This PC\Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOT Baseball 22\saved_games\[nameofyourleague].lg\news\html\leagues\

You can end up with a bunch of files in the ...saved games\[nameofyourleague].lg\messages folder. These are text files that somehow correspond to news items. While very small in size, the sheer volume can take time to copy, etc. I'm not an expert on these files & their use, but I think you'd be safe mass-deleting a good chunk of the older files. (What you might try doing as a test is removing a bunch of these files, saving them in a temporary directory somewhere, then going back into your game and seeing if you are missing any important-to-you news items, etc. If not, then you'd be free to delete these.)

Also, game log files can accumulate in your ...saved games\[nameofyourleague].lg\txt\leagues folder. If you're not interested in these, it won't hurt anything to delete them.

There may be some other folders where you can delete the contents. I'm sure others will speak up on this
