22nd time is a charm!

After TWENTY-TWO trips to the gold postseason, ten back and forth moves to diamond, and a championship drought dating back to Week #1, I finally won a league. Logically, I acknowledge that it's as arbitrary as my futility, but whenever someone feels the need to remind this forum about the random nature of the postseason, I'm contemplating my twenty-one random occurrences and politely asking them to kick rocks!

Congrats! Treasure this feeling until tomorrow when the losing begins anew!

Congrats. Gold is getting tougher.

Don't get discouraged at the Diamond level. Many of these teams are preparing for the Perfect level.

Haha! Isn’t that the truth?

I have few expectations… my hope is to compete a *little* better than I did three weeks ago.

Including all four of the other teams in my division this week, apparently. Ah well.. it was fun while it lasted .

Congrats... enjoy.

My first time in Diamond this week also

My three teams combined for 316 wins at the Gold level last week but only one advanced to Diamond. I fully expect to get waxed and sent back to Gold with my tail between my legs. But it's an accomplishment anyway.

It certainly is. I can’t count the number of 100+ win seasons have gone by the waste side from being the second best team in my league… and the second best team in my division. It really can be a crapshoot.

Looking at the bracketing, I actually think I can win my division this week in diamond. This unexpected hope has set me up for more engagement (and frustration) than I expected this week.

As a reference point, I think that I may have the textbook Diamond team. I’ve been in Diamond since early June with two brief stops in Perfect after my pair of championships. My last losing season was 24 weeks ago at 79-83. At this point My team seems to be pretty well locked into its lane with win totals over the last nine Diamond seasons being 91, 95, 95, 94, 100, 92, 90, 95, and 91.
I’m in D372 this week and looking at the makeup of my league, the best bet is that the trend will continue as the only juggernaut team is in the opposite league, although there is one very strong team on my side of the bracket. We’ll see what happens.

Hey! Me, too!! After 26 weeks in Gold (and 38 overall), I finally won a championship! With limited resources, I'm trying to target missions that will improve my team. Seems to be working at Gold, finished with my best record at 111-51.

Not so much at diamond. It's my 7th trip to diamond (D372, too). Best record so far is 72-90. Starting this year at 6-21. Ouch!

Chasm does appear to be declining from gold to diamond and sliding down a league; in my current league, there are 26 teams with competitive rosters and only 4 facing a certain demise. By and large, the roster required to win gold will compete at diamond with the number of teams that have completed the FH missions.

I'm sitting at 16-13 (my previous best was 74 wins in diamond), and I would be doing better if not for some uncharacteristically bad defense. Unit, Rixey, and deGrom are all allowing runs at 3x their FIP and the rest of the pitching staff is as expected. And my Speaker is hitting .207 with 1 HR. So I think there's some room for positive correction with a larger sample.

I had a bit better luck than the op. Took me 23 seasons to win the gold WS ! 19 in gold and 4 in platinum.
