Historical League Interests
Any interests in a historical league? Starting in 1871 with expanding just like real life.
Would probably start out at a faster paced league for awhile to get through the early years. I would strictly be the commissioner and not fill a team. |

By default teams will get contracted in some seasons before 1901. You will also not have enough players if you are using retire according to history as some teams will end up with a bunch of players who retire and not have enough to field a team.
There is a way around that though. I want to post a guide for those who want to play those seasons. Basically you turn off the expand league automatically expand league option until you get to opening day of 1900 and handle expansion manually. I suggest also automatically adjust league strategy option too. You must start with 2 leagues in 1871. 1871-1875: 4 teams, 84 games, rotation 2 1876-1881: 8 teams, 84 games, rotation 2 1882-1891: 12 teams, 120 games, rotation 3 1892-1900: 16 teams, 140 games, rotation 3 If you bring in all of the teams and set their franchise ID correctly you can turn on automatically expand league on opening day 1900 and when the season ends all of the teams will be set to their correct cities and logos and put in the correct league if necessary. |

I'm interested. Like Garlon said, I've tried historical sims starting in 1871, but I often run out of players. It's probably best to start in 1901, because there's 16 teams, and MLB is pretty consistent. Definitely down, been looking for a league exactly like this.
