Union League Baseball Openings for 2040

Union League Baseball started as an alternative league to the MLB in 1995. Now entering our 45th season. We currently use SLACK for communication and have a Stats+ site. We are currently about 2/3rd of the way through the offseason. During the season we sim a week every Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. Reports and Stats+ are updated after every sim. Outside of these current openings we have a dedicated group of long standing GM's. We use coaches, but not scouts. The first 3 draft picks are determined through a NBA lottery style system, and draft picks are tradable once the season starts. Teams have been ranked on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the hardest team to win with, and 1 being the easiest. Interested parties may DM me here if they are interested in a team or have further questions.

Available Teams for 2040:

PLAYERS LEAGUE

St. Paul Saints (2nd Place Northern Division, 91-71, Lost League Cup to New York Kings 4-2 in 2039. Ranked 22nd (t) in Minor League system with 0 points. Elo Rating of 1566.6, 8th.) ItÂ’s been quite the turn around for the Saints in recent memory. Once just another team for the Toronto RedLeafs to beat up, theyÂ’ve turned into one of the premier organizations in the PL. TheyÂ’ve made the playoffs for the last 8 years, including 2 division titles and their first Union Cup since the mid 1990Â’s. Once known for the best 5 man rotation in the league, they are now faced with major decisions regarding their core players and star powered aging rotation. 4/10 (Normal*)

Washington Senators (1st Place, Atlantic Division,100-62, Lost Divisional Cup to New York Kings 4-3 in 2039. Ranks 20th in Minor League system with 6 points. Elo Rating of 1575.9, 10th.)
Washington has one of the best pitchers in the league, as well as a core group of elite players under the age of 30. They will enter 2040 looking for their 6th 100 win season and Division title in a row. They have made the playoffs in 20 of their last 25 seasons, but have fallen short of winning their first Union Cup. 2/10. EASY

Charlotte Eagles (2nd Place, Atlantic Division, 74-88 in 2039. Ranked 13th in Minor League system with 57 points. Elo Rating of 1460.7, 15th.) The Eagles are a team on the rise in the Atlantic, though no one expects them to seriously compete just yet. With a nicely stocked minor league system, they are starting to develop a team that should be ready in a season or two. 7/10 Challenging

FEDERAL LEAGUE

New Mexico Suns (2nd Place, Central Division, 82-81 Lost tie breaker game to Salt Lake Bees in 2039. Ranked 9th in Minor League system with 86 points. Elo rating of 1487.4, 11th.) Joking known of the best player in the game and 25 other guys. CF Julio Elias just won his 1st MVP award. There is no doubt this team overachieved in a very strong division last year. With a few prospects nearing the majors, they could shock the ULB. 6/10 Challenging

New Orleans Pelicans (3rd Place, Central Division, 68-94 in 2039. Ranked 5th in Minor League system with 139 points. Elo Rating of 1435.5, 17th.) The Pelicans have just one player making over $10 million on the books for 2040, but heÂ’s 36. Will he be the lynchpin of their future? Doubtful. But ticket sales are up nearly 20% for a franchise thatÂ’s had 7 losing seasons in a row. Known for their extremely large fan base, once you get this team on a good roll, youÂ’ll be selling out and making the most money in the league. 7/10 Challenging

San Jose Jedi (4th Place, Pacific Division 60-102 in 2039. Ranked 6th in Minor League system with 109 points. Elo Rating of 1438.8, 16th.) This Disney+ franchise is currently being rebooted. TheyÂ’ve added the best player on the FA Market and have a growing group of prospects to ensure The Next Generation gets good ratings. (OppsÂ… Sorry, Wrong Franchise) While theyÂ’ve developed a good lineup that should keep them in games, itÂ’s unknown if the rotation is good enough. 5/10 Normal

*Would be ranked a 2, but this division features The Toronto RedLeafs, aka the Yankees of the ULB.

Potential recruits for New Orleans and Charlotte thus far. The other teams remain claimable.
