Matvei Michkov strange contract demand

Michkov in my game isnt such star, as many would think. But he is still good.

Anyway, now as a 32 year old almost UFA, he demanded only 2,48 mil. per season.
And that after his 93 points season. Sure he was long time injured many times, but still. Its unusual low demand for such player, isnt it?

In real-life, he would ask at least for 7 mil. i think. How is this calculated?

I would pay him 2 years $5,000,000 max as a GM

Adam Fox keeps getting extended for 3-4 years in the late $3M range in my games. 90% of the time contract demands are realisitc but there are some players where they ask for far more/less than they should, I would say that's the case for Michkov.

In my game, Carter Hart was a 5.0 ability free agent and did not get signed for two seasons (he was 28-29 so still in his prime years). He was finally signed by an AI team for 2 years @ 2.5 mil/year.

I've had 4.0 ability goalies requesting 7-10 mil/year so 2.5 was an absolute steal. He was signed in January so only played 17 games that season but then 72 in the final year of his contract. He went 35-26-9, 2.48 GAA, .930 save % but was not resigned and has been a free agent since that contract ended.

I just checked and now at 4.5 ability, he's asking 6,760,000 for 4 years. There could have been an update since the time he was signed for 2.5mil to now though.

Exact same thing keeps happening for me too almost in every save.
