Do pitch numbers increase?

I have been playing awhile. I have seen stuff/movement/control numbers increase/decrease. But, I have never seen individual pitch numbers increase.


Do the numbers for pitches ever increase? For example, if I draft a pitcher with a change up or splitter of 7, does it ever increase to, say, 9?

Yes, pitch ratings, both current and potential, do increase, though the in-game Scouting Report doesn't note them.

If you have your scout do a new report on the pitcher in question, you should see the change in the pitch rating. This is something few peope do, since it usually is boring.

However, I have tested this by changing the rating on a pitch and re-scouting the pitcher. the new rating will show up after the scouting is done.
