Relegation

Does anyone know if nine teams are still relegated from Diamond even though the league itself only has eighteen teams?

Thanks in advance for any response.

Go to league standings and click on pro/rel.

You'll see exactly how many teams get relegated from the league. The number will be correct, even for an 18 team league.

Thanks, very useful info.

Nine teams still relegated. This seems a little unfair since they have stuck 18 teams in what I consider an incomplete league with a 50% chance of relegation rather than the usual 30%.

On the other hand, you have a 5.5% of promotion to Perfect instead of the usual 3.3%

True, although battling away without the FH3 toppers makes that scenario unlikely.
Additionally with only four divisions am not sure how the playoffs will work for those that will qualify.

If you're worried about FH3 toppers, why would you even want to be in diamond? You cannot compete.

What was the point of the reduction to 18 in the first place? 32 seemed to work well enough, and it does reflect the MLB structure, after all.

Rather disappointed tbh, as if I bounce straight up as seems likely, if far from guaranteed, it will just be back on the ol' up-down-up-down wagon having previously moved beyond that, and despite continuing progress towards acquiring all those FH3 toppers. It was certainly possible to 'compete' last season without all of them, but I agree that looks very unlikely now.

How does four divisions work with 18 teams, anyway? Why not 16 or 20?

One conference has 2 divisions with 5 teams the other 2 divisions with 4 teams, no idea how the playoffs will be constructed.

Presumably after constructing the diamond leagues they were left with 18 teams and came up with this half baked scenario as a solution. Feel a bit cheated really as a 59 - 52 record leaves my team deep in the relegation zone.

It certainly does look half baked, if only in that equalising chances of reaching the play-offs between conferences seems impossible to achieve.

What it does do, of course, is increase mobility between diamond and gold, and maybe just increase some players cash spending in the process. Just the cynic in me.

Short leagues have been a thing since the inception of Perfect Team. It's not ideal, but it's something that's there. I agree there could be reforms made to these short leagues in terms of pro/rel, but unfortunately I don't think you can entirely get rid of short leagues.
