Resting player in starting lineup help!
I have always been a bit confused by this. When setting lineuo you can have backup play for starter every 4th,5th so on or you can set to just play when starter is tired. What do you think is best way to do this. Thanks

It varies by the situation. If I have a position where I have an every day player, then I’ll set the backup to occasionally play when facing a pitcher from the same side so that they will be more likely to be rested when the platoon split is in their favor. As example, Brett is pretty much my every day guy at third. To make sure that he isn’t unnecessarily tired for games against righties, I have Ripken set to start every fourth game against lefties but only when Brett is tired against righties.

It's certainly I good idea to set the frequency of rest games with reference to the strongest sides of both principle and substitute whether platooned or otherwise.
