Popularity / Fan Happiness
Not sure if this is a bug but something seems off here.
A few minor league guys whose local popularity is "living legend", "extremely popular player", etc is raising fan happiness. I can understand signing a living legend free agent like a Crosby or Mckinnon and raising happiness (I can also see +2 for a first round pick), but I'm not sure about an 18 year old whose never been beyond QMJHL being a living legend - even at the local level? I don't recall rookies being signed (aside from the 1st round pick) raising happiness in FHM7 either. Last edited by belial1134; 10-30-2021 at 04:46 AM. |

Yes, I've noticed the same thing. I'm drafting players and even the late rounders are at very popular internationally from having done a couple of seasons in junior. Pretty much all my regulars are at superstar or living legend.

Looks like a side-effect of the changes we made to the popularity mechanics, I think we need to switch that particular effect over to using international, rather than local, popularity.

Yeah, I was thinking international would make more sense as well. I could see in a few rare cases where a player is drafted and their popularity is maybe "very popular" such as Crosby, MacKinno, and a few others are hyped as the next one... Also, does it make sense for a player to have a local popularity of Superstar, and international as Living Legend. I suppose it could but for someone like Malkin it seems a bit odd. I looked at Draisaital and MacKinnon and they are the opposite - local living legend, international superstar. I could see where they are younger than Malkin and may not have as much International exposure. |
