Montreal Royals '46 roster issue
Kinda minor issue, and I am new here so am not certain this is right forum location for the concern.
In learning the game, I wanted to try out the Manager-only mode just to see what it was like. So, based on a .movie recently watched, I am trying the '46 Montreal Royals. This team is the first Professional appearance of Jackie Robinson, of course. However, the roster was also showing Roy Campanella as C. Roy Campanella started in the Dodgers' organization in 1946 as well. However, he played for the Nashua Dodgers in the Class B New England league in '46. In '47, he did play for Montreal, but Jackie Robinson moved on to bigger and better things in New York City. Finally, Campy started '48 for the AAA St. Paul Saints before joining the MLB Brooklyn Dodgers mid-season in '48. I kinda recognize that this may be TMI??? It's only that your games seem so stacked with encyclopedic information that prods me forward to bring it up. |

The way the historical minors works, players are not necessarily assigned to exactly the same team they were on in real life.
They get imported to the correct org based on the team they played for in a given year, but then once they're imported, the AI controls what level they're assigned to based on their ratings. So guys can ultimately end up at any given level, depending on their ratings and those of the other players in the org.

Very true, what Lukas wrote above...
That said, I haven't done this before, but I think you could put yourself in control of the Dodgers' organization, and then assign the historically correct players to Montreal, and then - to whatever degree you want - a) involve yourself in the day-to-day dealings of Montreal - essentially to keep the correct players on the Royals - and b) involve yourself in the day-to-day dealings of the Dodgers and their other farm teams (specifically, to the degree to which it affects Montreal). It would probably involve a little testing, but I think it could be done. Last edited by thehef; 10-30-2021 at 04:42 PM. Reason: clarity |
