Trade Deadline Scheduling Bug
Historical game at July 1st 1949. The NHL schedule has just increased from 60 to 70 regular season games. I previously had the trade deadline scheduled for 31st December, so decided to move it to 31st January to allow for the longer season.
However when I edit/save the rules, no trade deadline event is created, and the rules show the trade deadline as 31st January 1949 (i.e. in the past), rather than 31st January 1950. Also no trading is possible as the game thinks the trade deadline has passed. The rules edit screen doesn't allow you to specify a year, and any day/month combo chosen appears to be assumed to be the current year, even if it is prior to July 1st. I've opted to leave it as 31st December for now, so I can at least have trading up to that point. I don't know if the game will eventually adjust the deadline itself? The other option is to play the 49-50 season with no trading, and hope it fixes the trade deadline date going forward. |

I think it would fix itself after the first year - we occasionally see something like that in standard games with leagues that move a deadline from one side of January 1 to the other, and it usually works correctly after the first season. But we'll have a look and see why it's not assigning the year correctly when it's edited in that way.
