So, a couple of days ago I had the idea for this Mod. After starting it, I couldn't stop laughing at it, so I hope you enjoy it as well!

Mascot Replacement Mod - Historical Version


To Install:

- Start the Game
- Click on Settings
- Click on Troubleshooting
- Open Customizable Data Folder
- Put the files into Rink Pics in either your Save if you game is already started, or in the Quickstart Files - Current and Opening Season - Rink Pics.

This is for NHL only. The only team without a Mascot is the Rangers, and I used...well, you can see it in the picture.


Well, and the Kraken, so I found something I thought was appropriate.

Wow, this is a great idea and hilarious to look at (yet still fit the spirit of each team~). Definitely adding to the fun of the game. We now have many different versions of the 2D icons for everyone to try. Awesome job!

Link has been updated with a new one because I made an error in the initial one (although if you have it downloaded, it's easy enough to fix).

I forgot to add Lightning to the Tampa Bay images, so they will not work until you add lightning.

ie:

You need to change player_tampa_bay_home to player_tampa_bay_lightning_home

There's 2 players and 2 goalies for each team.

Small update;

As you maybe know, we started a 1989 Winnipeg Jets series and I accidently had put the mascots into it. Oh well, leaning into it!

Because Mick. E. Moose didn't exist back then, I've went and got Benny ready to go for our next stream!

I may or may not add other historical mascots. We'll see. If anyone has any specifics, let me know and I may try (time depending) or feel free to add yours to this.

Edit: Also adding; Hartford, Quebec and Atlanta.

Realized I needed a couple more for the stream. Also added a few more classic ones. I started them earlier/kept some later because it's the only mascot I can find from the time (or like Minnesota, never had a Mascot as far as I can tell).

Minnesota North Stars, LA Kings 67-96, NYI 72-98, Philly's first Mascot (only lasted one season in the 70s, but using him from 67-2018), and Colorado (96 to 2009).

Edit: Also found out that my original pack I think 1 of the 4 Kings one is missing. So if you're using this/had it previously, make sure to add that.

These have both been updated for the 2023 season. Not too much has changed, but I finally got around to adding the Troll for Seattle.
