HELP: File name for intro (walkup) for players with middle initial (Michael A. Taylor)?
I'm having a hard time getting Michael A. Taylor's intro file to play. No issues with any "non middle initial" player files.
Is it Michael A Taylor.ogg Michael_A Taylor.ogg? Michael A. Taylor.ogg? No matter how I try it, it won't seem to play for him? The period is prominently in Michael's name in the game..... Not sure if there is another issue? |

Have you tried underscores after the A? IIRC the old facegen naming had to have an underscore between all names?
Michael_A_Taylor Michael_A._Taylor Never used walkups and no idea if that will work but maybe worth a try? |

Photo file names use the underscores.... Michael_A_Taylor.jpg
But the traditional sound format is Michael Taylor.ogg Some middle initial players don't have a period. I think there is a coding issue with any player creating an intro ogg file when they have a middle initial with a period involved. Would love any solution here. |

I would love a solution too. I control the Pittsburgh Pirates in my league. I can't get the game to announce "Duane Underwood Jr.". I tried Duane Underwood Jr..ogg, Duane Underwood Jr.ogg, and Duane Underwood.ogg. I wish there was an option to say player names like you can play other sounds. Then we could figure it out ourselves.

Same problem with Jackie Bradley Jr.
Totally agree. Same issue with Jr. too!

edit the names in game and make sure they do not have a period behind them. Just make sure it is Michael A Taylor and then the ogg would be Michael A Taylor.ogg but the name in game must be the same as the file and you do not want a . in a file name except for before the extension.
With Jackie Bradley Jr. make sure in game it is just named Jackie Bradley Jr without the period. But the names in game must match the sound files and the file names can not have a period in the middle of them because that is not how files are named.

Thanks twins_34. You would think a dev could have answered this. Hopefully they are busy working on OOTP 23.

FYI I think if I remember right that you can also name it based on their bbref ID for real players. So you could use taylomi02 for him and it should play.

is there a way to do this for fictional players with a period in their name without having to edit?
for example: C.J Day = "C.J. Day.ogg" if that doesn't work would it take the OOTP player id as the filename? |

The in game name must be the very same as the file name for it to work in game. Just make the guys name CJ Day and make the file name CJ Day.ogg and everything should work perfect.
