Player's history never shows a contract being signed (but is a top player in the NHL)
I'm in 2054-2055 season and signed a free agent last night. He was drafted by the Krakens in 2044 and started playing in the NHL that season (44-45) yet there is no mention of him signing a contract under his history tab. I did filter by "contracts" and "complete history" just to be sure and the only contract that showed up was the one I just signed him to.
How would this be possible? I'm also wondering if this somehow impacted his salary demands? A 28 year old player with those stats is usually $10 Mill or more, yet he signed 3 yr for 5.5 million (year 1) and 5.4 million (year 2 and 3). I'm using my new GM and his negotiating is a 10. |

Yeah, the signings don't always get a note in the history for some reason, I haven't been able to figure out why. It's probably some specific set of circumstances that causes it, but no luck finding what it is yet (Although that KHL move just prior to him joining the NHL is interesting.) He would've had a normal contract, but something didn't update the real history properly.

Would that have effecting his asking salary? Can't believe he was only 5.5 million, I was expecting double that since other players of that age and skill are usually $10 M or more. |

Looks like another one here but no KHL involvement. I traded a player to Vegas in 2053 but in 2054 he was with the Islanders. I suppose he could have gotten traded to them but I thought he was on an expiring contract when I traded him and complete history doesn't say "becomes a free agent either"
Perhaps more interesting, when I click on "contracts" only - it is completely blank and I know I signed him to a contract or two as I originally drafted him. I'm wondering if maybe somehow it's losing data that was once there? Since I'm in 2054 and started in 2020) could the logs be getting so big that it's wiping out some information? Spending a little time looking at various players and a lot of them are missing all contract info in history. I also noticed the short list I created was gone when I extracted the fixed file for my GM the other day.
I'm wondering if something may have gone awry because I never noticed missing contract information previously. May just be an odd bug and not something easy to replicate. |

Sure thing, just got back in town a little bit ago so I'll try to upload this one later tonight. I've seen players I never had on my teams also with blank contracts screens, so it's pretty rampant.. Maybe I didn't notice it before, but I think it's only been that way since you fixed my GM file. I also know a short list I created called Past Players was totally gone (not a huge deal), so perhaps I did something wrong when I extracted the files. uploaded: PENS-063055.lg Last edited by belial1134; 07-06-2021 at 12:52 AM. |

Looks like it's ignoring everything except the most recent renewal, and not even showing that in some cases. Checking some other saves, I don't see anything like this, so it might be an issue with longer-term games, we'll try to figure it out.

Not sure if this is related, but my farm team just signed a 37 year old player to an 8.3 million /1 year contract. He's only a 2.0 ability and never got a contract in the NHL for more than 1,040,000.
Something also seems off with their salary cap. |
