Winter League ruined my pro-rel sim completely

I made a pro-rel sim in OOTP21 with 4 leagues (10, 20, 30, and 40 teams in each league). Figured I'd include a winter league as well as I had never put one in and just thought I'd test it out. Not only did a single existent player never once play in the winter league (I used the default Arizona Fall League template), it was actually corrosive onto my pro-rel setup. 13 years into the game, the lowest league with 40 teams completely disappeared, most of its teams moved into the league just above it and barely ever played games. And all this because of a system that had absolutely no affiliation with it.

Winter Leagues, Tournaments, and promotion/relegation systems all need a thorough inspection.

Sorry that happened!

Just adding a winter league couldn't cause what you're describing though. What this sounds like is a corrupt save file.

Depending on how long you've played ahead after the corruption, you might be able to restore the league by restoring from the autosave function. Instructions on doing that follow:

To restore from the automatic backup, do the following:

1) Open the game and on the start screen, click on Settings

2) Now click on the tab "Troubleshooting".

3) Click "Open folder containing saved games".

4) Now open up the league folder you're wanting to restore.

5) Then select all of the .dat files in the folder and back them up (just in case) by copying them to a temporary folder or creating a zipped file with them

6) Open the folder called "auto-save".

7) In there, select all of the ".dat" files and copy them to the league folder (the parent of the current folder) overwriting all of the ".dat" files in the league folder.
