Game freeze caused saved game to vanish from continue game folder

I was playing with my St. Louis River Walkers franchise Tuesday night, I started it on OOTP18 and currently using OOTP and am in the offseason between the 2033 and 2034 season.
I was quickly advancing through days as there are no games or other duties.
When it just froze at 19 percent. I walked away for 10 minutes, hoping it would solve itself.
It did not, still 19 percent.
So I shut the game down, and when I went back to the continue game folder it was empty.
I went to the load game folder and when I clicked it, I got a World.dat folder not found.
I found a backup, but it was dated Sept. 1.
Admit to being bad at backup, this was the first incident I have had with the game since moving up to OOTP22.
At the time of the crash, I was siming in early November.
Anyway to get back to where I was.
If not, this could be the end of the River Walkers franchise.

This is likely the result of a corrupt league file.

You may be able to restore from the autosave function. Instructions on doing that follow:

To restore from the automatic backup, do the following:

1) Open the game and on the start screen, click on Settings

2) Now click on the tab "Troubleshooting".

3) Click "Open folder containing saved games".

4) Now open up the league folder you're wanting to restore.

5) Then select all of the .dat files in the folder and back them up (just in case) by copying them to a temporary folder or creating a zipped file with them

6) Open the folder called "auto-save".

7) In there, select all of the ".dat" files and copy them to the league folder (the parent of the current folder) overwriting all of the ".dat" files in the league folder.

8) Now start the game and load your league.
