My mock draft...
1. Bengals take Southern Cal's QB Carson Palmer, it's a done deal, it will happen. Heisman winner throws away a great career. Again. Oh well.
2. Lions either trade pick or take WR Charles Rogers out of MSU, possibly the best skill position player in the draft, I'm not high on Palmer. 3. Houston says it will go with WR Andre Johnson, I don't think they will. If they hold on to the pick, however, they'll grab him for the reason the Lions take Rogers - a young QB needs someone to throw to. 4. New York traded up, IMO, to screw both Parcells and Belichick. I say they take K-State's CB Terrence Newman, the guy Parcells wanted. 5. Dallas can take Terrell Suggs if they want, but will likely have to grab UK's DT Dewayne Robertson, the best defensive player on the board. 6. Arizona stays in-state and grabs State's DE Terell Suggs, who has slipped. 7. Minnesota may trade, but if they don't DT Jimmy Kennedy out of Penn State is the best defensive player on the board. 8. Jacksonville will look at a QB, but they have no line and could sure use Utah's LT Jordan Gross 9. Carolina should take Marshall's Q.B Byron Leftwich no questions asked. 10. Baltimore loves QB Kyle Boller out of Cal for reasons I can't fathom, but whatever. 11. Seattle wants Kennedy, but I think he'll go to Minnesota, who have a tradition of taking slipping players (see Randy Moss). They'll grab OK-State's DT Kevin Williams as a consolation prize. 12. St. Louis is thrilled that Wash St. CB Marcus Trufant is still on the board, and they pick him. 13-15. DT's Jonathan Sullivan, Ty Warren, and William Joseph will go in some order to Chicago, New England, and San Diego. I'm not going to waste my time guessing who will go where. 16. Kansas City is disappointed that all the good DT's are off the board, and opts for DE Jerome McDougle out of Miami. 17-18. New Orleans will take USC's S Troy Polamalu with one of the picks, and spend the other on either C Jeff Faine out of Notre Dame or G Eric Steinbach out of Iowa. I say Faine will go, but Steinbach should. 19. New England would love G Eric Steinbach if he's still there, but if New Orleans takes him, I say they take Kelly Washington. 20. Denver is stuck with the best DE Kansas City doesn't take, which in my scenario is pass rushing DE Michael Haynes from Penn State. They could also take undersized Chris Kelsay. 21. The Browns should take LB Boss Bailey, but I bet they'll go for Oklahoma's CB Andre Woolfolk instead. 22. Chicago's second pick will be an offensive lineman, and the last first-round talent available is Stanford's T Kwame Harris 23. Buffalo will grab LB Boss Bailey out of Georgia if they can. Rest when I get back.

24. Indianapolis can grab a defensive stud in CB Sammy Davis from A&M.
25. NY Giants will take multitalented DE Chris Kelsay from Nebraska if he slips this late. 26. San Francisco needs a third receiver, and Kelly Washington from Tennessee is their man if he's here. 27. Pittsburgh needs QB Rex Grossman. 28. Tennessee wants another running back, and Penn State's RB Larry Johnson is their man despite doubts about his NFL effectiveness. 29. Pack should grab a linebacker like LB Nick Barnett out of Oregon State if the cards fall their way. 30. Philly will take a tight end, either Dallas Clark or my favorite, Rutgers' TE LJ Smith, although I'm partial to Big East alumni. 31-32. Al Davis will grab Miami's unsure RB Willis McGahee and someone else. Who knows who?

I heard a report today where they were "talking" about trying to move way up in the draft - maybe even to the Lions spot. Now that would be sweet for us Pats fans. I really love this time of the year and am excited to see what happens tomorrow.

I like some of your picks but I guarentee that Pittsburgh will not take a QB. They absolutely MUST have a defensive back. They lost in the playoffs last year because of their dumb secondary. Hopefully they learned their lesson. I'm glad you got Larry Johnson in there. I couldn't fit him in my mock draft...even though I think he is talent. Hopefully he won't be just another Ron Dayne.

They instead took McGahee. I know hes gonna be awesome in the future, but I still don't see why they drafted unless they plan on trading him or another one of there backs when they already have two 1,000 yard backs.

Matt,
I agree with you. I think that McGahee is going to be a great NFL player but it confuses me as to why they would pick him. They can't have 3 great backs on one team, someone is going to have to be traded.

no the NFL has become a 2-3 RB sport. its cheaper because they don't get paid as much because they don't produce as much and they are always fresh.. YOu get a pounder 1st down, speed 2nd down, and a reciever 3rd down. 3 RB is the way to go.

How many teams do you see use a different RB on first, second and third down?

The Bills got a huge steal with Chris Kelsay in the second round.
