College Baseball (NCAA) All-Time Roster

Would anybody be interested in this? I know we have the All-Time teams roster, just checking to see would anybody be interested in an NCAA layout like this.

I would be willing to take this on but the ETA would be a few months down the line. Keep in mind, we are talking a long list of schools and how to properly adjust their ratings accordingly.

EDIT: July 6, 2023 update!

So far I have created ALL 31 D1 conferences that sponsor baseball. The MEAC schools who play baseball now do so within the confines of the Colonial, which I may get around to adding at a later date.

Others to mention:
JUCO teams: Some regions are not added due to either no baseball playing members, not enough alumni, or to expand bigger regions with better options. 96 JUCO teams will exist and the possibility of duplicate players (player on NCAA squad AND their JUCO squad).

The MEAC and Big Sky do not sponsor baseball. The MEAC discontinued sponsoring baseball after the 2022 season.


Other conferences may be added down the line but for historical purposes, these conferences (with current 2021-22 alignment) stand out.

I've come up with the formula on how to rate players: Instead of using their OOTP attributes, I will use the editor to calculate their final year of statistics using the in-game editor. This may skew ratings tremendously but should allow for in-game play to go well.

As for conferences and playoff structures, I tried to mimic each conference's format as best as possible. The SEC is structured without the single-double format (Seeds 5-12 play a single elimination before going double elimination), where as conferences that had some sort of ladder structure as a play-in for double elimination, they were either fixed as an 8-team modified double elimination playoff or a 4-team double elimination format.

It would be real. The only problem is deciding on how to their ratings; do I take their peak value in MLB/MiLB/***/LMB, or figure it out another way.

Right now, just compiling players. The only team I've got a full roster for is Tennessee.

Yep.

Examples would be: Vanderbilt would have a lot of most recents and currents (Rocker, Leiter). Tennessee, Texas, Clemson, USC, Arizona State would be loaded with some damn good teams, especially ASU with like ten outfielders and the Longhorns with close to 20 pitchers.

Contemplating now adding the Big East since a lot of the New England schools had good teams in the 70s and 80s.

The only issue is how to rate them out and if I'm using their peak pro year for the roster or what.

It shouldn't be difficult to find those that never made it to MLB or not in the database by starting a historical save and exporting the roster from there.

Keep in mind though, there is no ETA on this. I'm still getting guys (up to 1997) and taking a break off and on while doing other things.

I've built it, just not sure how to apply ratings for players, then to decide who will (or will not) make the cut.

Roster structure:

30-man active roster

15-man reserve roster.

Which I'm kindly doing to add Dylan Crews and Paul Skenes to LSU.

I will need help getting the font colors and font styles for the uniforms. Keep in mind that the jerseys for each team are in the old format and we don't have pants for the teams as of yet.
