Sounds of Major League Baseball 1941-1969

The sounds of a major league baseball game have evolved over the years and the era from about 1941 through 1969 had its own unique features. Sharing some of the feel from the earlier years while introducing but not fully implementing the modern sounds, the time period of 1941 through 1969 should have its own sounds files for those interested in playing historical years with OOTP22.

I created a complete sounds file for use with for example the historical ballparks by silvam14 during the years of 1941 through 1969. After downloading and unzipping the folder one will find a number of subfolders with one being a Notepad text file to assist you with setting up your historical ballpark's custom sounds. Note that actually the Mid Century Baseball Sounds kind of breaks into two segments of this era with the later jet age sounds replacing the propeller airplane sounds. The text file explains this.

This era spans from Ted Williams hitting .406 in 1941 through the 1969 Miracle Mets. Organ music was first in the majors at Wrigley in 1941 but the organ's modern use still common today would have to wait until Nancy Faust took over playing the organ at Comiskey in 1970. While Roosevelt, Truman, and Eisenhower flew in propeller airplanes, Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon used the 707 jet. Fan participation in this era ranged from the cowbell of Hilda Chester at Ebbets, to the trumpet at Los Angeles Coliseum, to the now illegal stadium horns and airhorns.

I hope those of you who like playing OOTP22 during the 1941-1969 period enjoy using these sounds.

Download and unzip this file: https://www.mediafire.com/file/jxjqh...ounds.zip/file
Then read the text file for lots of more information including some custom options you can use.

One thing missing in the text file is a bit of additional information regarding your custom sounds setups for the historical ballparks. The rallies, the ambients, and the stretches will play at random but you can for example force a certain stretch.ogg to be used in your game of that day. Just temporarily remove all the stretches except the one you want to use that day from the ballpark's sounds folder. With only one option remaining for stretch.ogg you will hear what you desire. After the game you can put the other stretch.oggs back into the ballpark's sounds folder.

As an example of using the Mid Century Baseball Sounds I created a Youtube video of a game I had set up at Ebbets Field with the 1951 Dodgers hosting the Giants. I had only one stretch placed in the Ebbets sounds group so I had determined what I wanted to hear for the seventh inning stretch. I also had added the two suggested extra ambients for Ebbets. Ambient frequency set at default and all sounds set at default volume. (Pardon my lack of dedicated video card for video quality but you should be able to hear Mid Century Baseball Sounds). Link to Youtube example: https://youtu.be/gzXyQAZXrkk

Late edit:
In the text file, stretch61 is from 1961, but stretch62 is from 1962.

Thanks for doing this. I will use these when I get to that era with my fictional league.
