2 Bugs/issues in my leagues

I've opened tickets for both of these, but wanted to see if anyone here might have some insight as well. The first issue described below is problematic, as I had planned to expand the other leagues and the issue impacts expansion teams for some reason I cannot figure out. I don't want to touch the save file until the issue is sorted out.

Issue One:

I have several major leagues in my world. I expanded the Mexican league to add two teams, and during their first two years they had weird transactions with Pittsburgh from my US league. I finally looked into it and the game is assuming the two expansion teams from Mexico are minor league teams for Pittsburgh.

Is there anyway to dissociate them? I tried to affiliate the Mexican league with the US league and then choosing "none" as the teams the 2 Mexican teams are affiliated with, but that did not work. I have no idea what I did to associate the teams, the Mexican League is not a minor league.

The two Mexican teams are the Bison and the Matatdors. The Federal League team are the Pittsburgh Ironmen. From testing expansion, it looks like every expansion for each of my other major leagues results with Pittsburgh being the parent team for each new team, regardless of league. As I said above, this is a major issue for me. Not sure if how I set my my leagues is the problem.

I uploaded the save file through the FTP site, the file name is Mexican League expansion.

Issue Two:

I've run into an issue with the latest patch with homefield in the playoffs.

I have it set up where two division winners and two wildcard teams make the playoffs, with the wildcards being seed 3 and 4. The last two playoffs, the fourth seed has upset the first seed. Before, that would mean that the winner of the two/three seed series would have homefield advantage in the final series.

However, after downloading the patch, the four seed has home field advantage in the final series. I've fixed this manually in my main league, but also impacts my other leagues. I am wondering if I set up something wrong or if something has changed with the latest patch.

I uploaded the league files to the FTP under the file name "World Baseball League". I am currently in the final series. That save was in the championship series for the Federal League, and I manually set the teams for correct homefield advantage.

Was searching through to see if anyone else was reporting issues with playoff settings. I'm guessing something is defaulting custom playoff settings when the playoffs start.

Most of my leagues are 2 divisions with the top 2 teams in each division playing each other in the first round. I was running a couple of tests to see how my leagues would look in a few years if I tried something different. But I noticed each time it got to the playoffs, instead of 1 vs 2 in each division in the first round, it was 1 in Div A vs 2 in Div B and then 1 in Div B vs 2 in Div A. Coincidentally this is what is default in the Custom Playoff settings as soon as you select 1 and 2 in each division and clear all the wildcard teams.

As I was testing an unrelated settings change (Promotion/Relegation) I simmed a few seasons with editing the playoff settings after the league realignments. Still would default back to A1 vs B2 and B1 vs A2 in the playoffs. Did some shorter runs to check my Custom Playoff settings over the course of the year to see how the settings held up. Was able to get all the way to the last day of the regular season and have the settings still be A1 vs A2 and B1 vs B2. As soon as the playoffs started, it defaulted back to A1 vs B2 and B1 vs A2.

To make sure it wasn't some other setting in my leagues, I went back and created a generic league with base settings with 2 divisions of 4 each. Set it up to be A1 vs A2 and B1 vs B2. Sure enough, get to the playoffs, and it sets up the matches as A1 vs B2 and B1 vs A2.

This was something I discovered this past week after also having already been on the latest patch. Last known good version I saw was when I completed my last season in OOTP21.

I'm guessing whatever is causing my issue here is the same thing that is causing the 1 vs 4 winner, even in the case of 4, to have home field vs the 2 vs 3 winner. I would suspect that the higher seed home field is not retaining the setting once the playoffs start.

I’m seeing the same issue in another save I have, and based on what trreinhard said, looks like something is causing the settings to reset.

Good news is that someone from OOTP is looking at my ticket now.
