Camera angles

The dynamic camera angles are driving me crazy. It picks the dumbest angles to show like "blimp view" for pop ups. Then when there's a play that I wanna see close up on like a double play, it zooms out to the outfield camera! I wish there was a way to control which camera goes to which play. An outfield camera would be cool for a home run but not for a close up play.

I wish they would have done a better job picking which views on what plays too. You know you can disable the dynamic view in the view menu during the game and then put it back on if you want after reviewing the replay. Thats what I do sometimes. I love the concept of the dynamic view, they just need to make sure the dynamic view picks out the best view for the play.

Took me less than five minutes to edit my stadium and check mark the views I wanted for dynamic viewing. Will take longer to do rest of stadiums though.

I would like to be able to adjust cameras while in game. I know you can change which camera view you want under options, but I'm talking about adjusting the camera like you do when you check the 3D model tab from edit ballpark. It would save a lot of time if this could be implemented. As of now I adjust a camera, play a game to see how it looks, but if I need to make more adjustments, I must finish the game first and go back to edit ballpark, 3D model. It would help very much if you could do that while in game. Thank you.

What I did...

Make camera views for my stadium, Wrigley Field.

Uncheck any views I didn't want used as a dynamic camera.

Copy to all stadiums. Done this way all cameras exported to other stadiums will have the checked-unchecked status for dynamic use still in effect.

One other nice thing about copying cameras to all stadiums is the feature doesn't overwrite any cameras already there that have the same name. It only adds cameras that don't already exist. For the cameras that already exist the checked unchecked status would have to be done manually.

Then it just comes down to finetuning the new cameras in each stadium at your leisure. I started by doing adjustments as I played in each stadium. After a few I decided to just do them all at once. I had enough free time so it was fun to do in one sitting.

I did post my ootp.3d files for others to d'load here..

I take out the blimp, CF (both long and close views) and I think that is about it. It is down to personal preference and it's easy to just go to the park editor, look at each camera and decide if you want it or not.

The cameras along with the settings in my linked post, too me, have cleaned up the dynamic camera a lot and made the timing of the switches better. There are still shots where the ball is lost from view especially on balls to the OF. That's not changing until OOTP Dev. improves them either in a patch or in v23.

I still think its a good start with this new feature and it adds a lot of atmosphere letting me see the new beautiful parks from many different angles. It's nice now, give 'em time to polish it up and it will be fantastic.

Thanks again. I was using your custom cameras from the other thread, until the latest patch overwrote the files (I wish it wouldn't do that). I've set them up again, disabled blimp and the CF field views and dynamic zoom and it's much better.
