Age Limits Bug
I set up age limits for my historical save at the Major League level (upon league creation) as:
Minimum: 22 Maximum: 50 After the save was created, I then set up age limits for all the minor league levels (i.e. 20-36 for AAA/19-29 for AA, etc.). After simming a few weeks in the preseason all of the AI teams had released any player in their system that fell outside of the Major League age limits. After setting up the age limits, but before simulating a day I tried to make a trade using a player that fell outside the major league age limit. I tried to trade for a 26 year old minor leaguer, and offered three 25 year old guys, but when I added a 19 year old player, the feedback said that the trade couldn't go through because it involved a player outside the league rules. As requested the save is uploaded to the ftp as "Age Limits Test". Let me know if I uploaded it incorrectly. If you go to the Transactions Log, March 11 is the date where all the players got released. I kept this save at this point as all the released players were free agents. Essentially what I'm trying to figure out is: 1. Why the minor league teams were seemingly following the Major League age limits. 2. How can I go about making trades for prospects if they don't meet the major league rules. |

Can we please look at this for next patch, or at least help me figure out what I'm doing wrong? Has anyone (playing a major league game, not a fictional college/high school game) had any luck with age limits?
I'm still getting players promoted way too early* with the new patch, so this is how I'm trying to combat that happening, but it still causes every AI team to DFA every minor league player that doesn't fall between the major league age limits. *just to be clear: when I'm seeing players getting promoted too early, it's happening with players already in the minor leagues at the start of the save (in this example the save starts in 2000), not just drafted players in the year after they were drafted. For some reason Jimmy Gobble and Adam Wainwright keep getting called up in season 1 at age 18 and it's weird and I can't get over it. It doesn't seem to be a development issue because the players are already that good as soon as the save starts, which is why I'm trying to use age limits. Yes, it's on our list to investigate, but it will likely not be an easy item to fix. The main reason is that the AI is not set to make decisions around "this guy isn't eligible for the league now, but will be in a couple years" and coordinate around that. Making that adjustment and trying to coordinate it through all possible AI roster moves may not be a simple update.
