What can we wait in FHM8?

I assume, this was the last patch from FHM 7, right?

Can you please give us some hints, what new and improved can we see in FHM 8?

No. It's way too soon for that.

Just fixing the bugs and the game engine would be good to me

Hi Jeff, has there been any discussion of having the option to include actual transactions during a season when playing in historical mode (similar to OOTP)?

Maybe it's a North American thing with management sims, but I feel that the FHM dev team have already focused enough of their resources on the historical mode, and they need to focus on improving general game immersion, trading screens, media input in the world of the NHL and the 2D engine to take the game to the next level.

I agree!
Let the past be the past for some time.

Considering in historical you can't scout players for the draft, can only see who's available in the next draft and no further, are forced to put 1.5 star players on your second line and have barely any depth in your roster, then I would say no, historical still needs work.

Right ? My list is a lot longer than that for things that I want for historical. Maybe I'm biased because that's all I play, and I've been a pretty strong advocate for the game and Historical side of things for the past 2 years, but yeah...saying they should be considered done with Historical is...well...misguided, to put it in the most politically correct terms I can, and without saying the equivalent of "You people" like a couple posts above.

Fair enough, I personally don't really play historical mode and if the game doesn't evolve much outside of historical mode, I don't think it would have enough pull to keep me interested. It is a nice option but I personally see it as a side feature and not the main mode of playing.

Before this gets out of hand: I generally stop reading when I see the suggestion "stop spending time on (something other people enjoy) and focus on (something I enjoy)." So no need to worry that we're going to start ignoring one area or another based on a forum request.

Hockey management games are a very niche market. For the game to sell enough copies to be viable, it needs to appeal to a broad variety of players and play styles.

If you like one particular game mode, bear in mind that the game's continued existence also depends on many people who don't enjoy that mode and won't buy it if we focus exclusively on that. We need everybody onboard, so we'll continue splitting our development efforts across multiple areas. Nobody's going to be 100% happy with that, but it beats having large sections of the playerbase 100% unhappy.

We understand that.

Just curious: How will look an ideal Hockey management game by you? What is your dream , this game will have in 10 years?

That's fair enough Jeff. I appreciate people enjoy different aspects of the game, I was just expressing my own personal view, that's all. No disrespect was intended to anyone

No worries, it's just good to remind everyone now and again that in order for us to keep the game going, we need to cater to a variety of preferences and playstyles.

I play predominantly Historical mode my son plays Regular season mode, so i would like improvements in both areas.

I would love one day FHM to match Football Manager games.

Like others have stated above would like to see some of the bugs ironed out and more refinement with the 2d engine.

One item of interest I would like to see is the ability to see percentages of goals against goaltenders high and low shots. With the ability to provide a tactic for your team to concentrate on said weakness. I'm sure this is studied in the NHL on goaltenders. Of course exposing this weakness does not guarantee a goal but provides a higher probability. Maybe this could be incorporated with the scouting ability?

That one's coming, just finished the design for it a few days ago. Tracking stats for pads, glove, and blocker-targeted shots.
