HELP - Backed up game won't open

New to OOTP, I put in some serious work on my first try. Backed it up last night, and it seemed to have worked. Then I went to re-load and it's now not loading. I'm trying to load the backup .lg folder and through restore from backup, and I keep getting dialog "You must enter a target name." Is my game lost? What am I doing wrong?

You're almost there. The restored file must have a different name. That's what it's asking for. Enter any name that is not the same as an existing league file.

Okay I got some of it back to the beginning of the playoffs, which is good. However all of the logos and caps seem to be missing. Same with messages, etc. Do I have to manually move every .dat file over to a new folder?

So I got the file back, and it is opening, but I can't see any team logos, or my inbox, or even some depth charts. It seems like I moved all the relevant files to the right place, but maybe I didn't. How do I get it back to where I can view everything as it should be?

Hmmm don't know the answer. All my restored leagues come with all the files that are backed up. See this old screen shot for an example.

Okay. Before you replied the first time I found these instructions and followed them, that's how I got back into it. To my own eye it seems like I did it correctly, but maybe I missed a step. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...03&postcount=2

I don't think that process restores custom work unfortunately. If you have a full backup then the in-game restore I showed gives a complete league file back.

Got it! I was an idiot misunderstanding your instructions, once I realized it was now under a different name I got the right file. Thank you!
