Can someone simplify the luxury tax for me?

I'm having a hard time figuring out how the game is deciding the amount of money some teams are having to pay for the luxury tax. I know it's 20% above the soft cap but I don't know what number the soft cap is. No matter how I crunch the numbers I'm not understanding for example why team Halifax is paying 15.4 million. What figures does the game use to determine that revenue sharing number? Looks like currently only 3 teams have gone over the soft cap since i'm only seeing two teams that looks like they will be sharing revenue. Halifax being the team that's got the higher budget/player payroll in the league.

The "soft cap" is 120% of the league's average payroll. I'm not sure if this number is stored somewhere, or if you'd have to do the math by hand from the league finances page.

The tax is then 20% of every dollar above that soft cap. |

I followed that and I still can't get the math to work. Maybe i'm doing something wrong. I don't see how, while crunching the numbers Halifax has to pay what they pay.

I cannot get the numbers to work either. I actually found that you should be paying $25,297,858.80

In your second screenshot, the average player payroll looks like a league setting, but it seems like your average player payroll is actually higher in reality. Maybe try hitting the refresh button to see if it updates with what the true actual average league payroll is. I have given up on finances in this game since they are so simplistic and in the end, never matter much. Once the owner sets your budget that is really the only number you need to pay attention to. Profit and loss do not matter at all. Last edited by rudel.dietrich; 04-25-2021 at 04:09 AM. |

Has been broken for years despite numerous reports it does not work as described. I ended up using a revenue share as that does work correctly.

In the end I just gave up trying to figure it out. I took about 5 hours of my time over 2 days to figure out. I'm just glad you guys told me it's not working correctly so I didn't waste anymore time.
