NCAA Ballparks

Thank you to the community of 3-D modelers, I use parks from Silvam, gohorns, erigiaffe, nielsoncp and Lawn Loaf all the time. And a special appreciation goes out to Silvam for all the hard work he put into the tutorials. I never would have figured out how to build my own stadiums without him.

I play a 142 team D-1 NCAA league and authentic ballparks make a huge difference in the experience. I create them as I need them and generate 2-4 per month. I don’t have the skills of some of the other modelers, and you will notice some different approaches as I learned.
• The models are optimized for the views I typically use, namely, the view from the visitor’s dugout and the view from the press box, but I’ve tried to address the angles from every place around the field that people might reasonably watch the game.
• I can't always find data on outfield wall heights and often have to estimate from photos.
• A few of my earlier attempts have overly large image sizes for the playing field and so sometimes won’t load correctly on my system (field is black).
• If you'd like the Sketchup files for any of these, drop me an email. I'm happy to provide them.
• I could never get the spectators in the stands to work, so if you need fans, you will have to add them yourself.
