In the base MLB rosters, what happened to A- ball?
I noticed that none of the teams have an A- affiliate this year.
Is that something that changed in real baseball? |

Yes, MLB got rid of the SSA affiliations. I simply rebuilt those leagues. It required me jotting down a lot of notes from my ver. 21 MLB based universe, but it wasn't that hard to do.

Thanks! Any chance you can share how you reorganized it?

I jotted down the information for the different SSA leagues so I had the team names, division names, and what teams where affiliated with what MLB team. I then created SSA leagues, deleted everything in the "Edit League Structure" tab, then added back divisions and teams. I renamed the teams and divisions so they'd all be correct, affiliated the teams with the correct MLB teams, then loaded the correct logos and uniforms for the teams.
The way MLB has reorganized the minor leagues, AAA and AA are pretty much the same. I just renamed the leagues back to the originals. As it is, the International League (AAA East) has too many teams to my liking, so I created the American Association so I have a third AAA league and used my discretion as to what teams were moved from the International League to the American Association. This way the three leagues are somewhat balanced in terms of size. Things get more complicated at the A level because leagues were designated different levels than they were before and a couple of SSA teams became A teams. Several other teams were moved around to different Class A leagues and levels. I have a spreadsheet with my ver. 21 minor leagues. Between that and my hand written notes I was able to set everything back to how things were before MLB reorganized the minors. All of this was somewhat time consuming (I spent a lot of time in the "Edit League Structure" tab), but not difficult because I had planned it all out in advance.

I hate this new structure, it's actually terrible.

All teams still have A ball affiliates. MLB only restructured the minor leagues so there are less minor league teams. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
