Stats & AI modifiers change randomly at opening day
Hello,
I want to share my findings, which I already posted in THIS thread to the bug section. In my opinion this issue appears to be pretty severe and I would appreciate if some mods take a look at it. Quote:

If you want this not to change, you'd need to uncheck the box to 'automatically adjust league total modifiers for accuracy'. Otherwise, the game will recalculate periodically.

I know that you can turn off these adjustments.
What I want to point out is, that these adjustments jump in at opening day of the first season. I just checked that in OOTP 21, where this was not the case. In OOTP 21 all these modifiers applied to the first season even with (the default setting) automatically adjustments checked. Furthermore, I want to point out the way these modifiers are calculated. I guess my screenshots clearly show that the there have been something messed up. It appears to be more of a random assignment than a calculation. Example: You start a standard game in OOTP 22 and once you get a starting pitcher modifier of 0.9 and once of 1.3 or 1.4.. |

I've seen this as well. I've started now three saves in 22 and have seen what LeftHandPath is talking about. It seems that whatever calculations the engine is using based on the simulated results might be very sensitive. Maybe it appears random because small difference in the behind the scenes sims to generate these modifiers can cause significant difference in the modifiers themselves. I could understand if my all fictional league was different than the two MLB standard start games I created, given that the all fictional league will have a dramatically different player pool, but the two MLB leagues have the same player pool, so I would imagine everything would be similar between those two saves. Some differences accounting to different choices the AI might make, etc, but nothing like big swings in the SP Stamina modifier or going from a Slow to Quick hook or Low to Normal overall pitcher stamina. |
