Mobile's Hank Aaron Stadium
Freshly vaccinated last month, my wife and I decided to take a little trip to Mobile, Alabama, for a few days to check out the USS Alabama, which I always wanted to see. We also took a little day trip to Dauphin Island to enjoy the sunshine (not so much the frigid water).
With that said, I noticed Hank Aaron Stadium as a prominent landmark on the turn north from I-10 to I-65. Excited about the prospect that I might make a little MiLB trip back to Mobile this summer, I was devastated to read that the Mobile team is no more. What's sadder for me is that I grew up as a huge Braves fan (NOLA didn't have a MLB team, so I divided my loyalty between the two closest teams, Atlanta and Houston, but I could watch the Braves every day on TBS). Seeing Aaron's namesake on the stadium made me think that watching a BayBears game was a must-see this season. Sadly, it cannot be. BTW, not trying to stir up any political factors here, but I was pleasantly surprised that everywhere I went in Mobile/Dauphin/Bayou LaBatre was mask-compliant. I am vaccinated and less fearful for my own health. However, I am fearful for others' health, having recently lost a family member to this unfortunate virus pandemic, and I happily wear my mask everywhere I go. When I saw that it was expected of people and people followed that expectation, it made me happy that Mobile/DauphinIsland/BayouLaBatre was our short trip choice. I would have loved to share a stadium with those same people! I will return to Alabama this summer and spend my stimulus money there if they maintain the fight to beat this damn thing.

Uss Alabama and USS Drum are a fun day trip.
And mask-wearing should not be a political issue but common sense. |

Do we have dimensions (at least) for Aaron Stadium? We can always have a Mobile MiLB team in our sims.

if the vaccine works mask wearing, one way or another, is irrelevant
