hey guys. I am having probs trying to get modded sounds working. have tried everything even converting wav files to ogg but none of the sounds will play. Would love to hear any feedback or steps that i should take. Thanks for any help. Am new on here and community looks like a helpful crowd.

You can create new sounds or use files others have made. You can overwrite or modify existing files. When adding new sounds you may have to rename the file(s). For example if the last file is named ambient10.ogg you must rename the next file ambient11.ogg. The next ambient12.ogg and so on. You can overwrite any file by renaming the new file the same as the old file. The files go in the SOUNDS folder.
Z:\.......\OOTP Baseball 22\data\sounds
Remember that if you overwrite any original files they will be overwritten when applying a new patch. Keep the files you want in a backup folder and copy them back over after the patch. I don't use Steam so this may not apply. AFAIK Steam patches jut the newly updated files.

wav will never work. the files must be in ogg.

First off you really got to tell us what sound files you can get working for us to start to help

I will wait for your reply on what sounds you are having issue with.

I have walk up sounds working but am having some trouble with home run horns. I was trying to put an audio home run call by announcer but I can only record clips off YouTube with my phone. The recordings are too low and can't hear it when home run scored. Is there any announcer home run files for download or is there an easier way of doing it. Thanks for any help.

Audacity is a free sound editor. You can use it to convert mp3s or wavs from YouTube to OGG.

I have like 4 or 5 of them Click on the link in my sig.

And then, if you want the horn sounds only for your park, they MUST be in your park sounds folder

Hey thanks a lot for your help. I downloaded some of your files and they work great. Are there any strike call sound files by announcers, or are you not able to edit them. Just about getting the hang of this modding. Thanks again for your help. I am wondering if there is a way to increase the volume of the home run call as it seems a bit low. Not sure if that is possible.

I have not done any of them only for the reason, most of them I tried, they usually say the name of the batter and that would mean I would need to watch a lot of games and a lot of pitches lol. Maybe at some point I will try and get some but atm, I am more focusing on homeruns and ambience.

I have a couple of former NL umpire Dutch Rennert, one from another random umpire, and I cut a couple of the late NBC baseball announcer Curt Gowdy. As I make my way through my '70s league, I may expand the strikeout calls to some other announcers.

Hey thanks...these are great. I have found all these added sound files bring a lot more immersion to the game when you play them out. Fair play to everyone who is taking the time to make these incredible mods for the game..
