That is an excellent story and thanks for sharing the link.
So well written I actually feel like I know and love Rascoe.
To draw a recent comparison, it's kind of like Jerry Reinsdorf bringing back Tony La Russ as manager.

Well, then again, maybe not.
No, on second thought, definitely not.
Somehow I don't feel anywhere near the same emotional attachment to the Reinsdorf-La Russa reunion that I do to Rascoe's return.
I doubt anyone does.
Except Jerry and Tony of course.

Amazing read. Thank you. Maybe this is why I created a team to run in the Atlantic League (my sons are listed as Owner, GM, and Field Manager, respectively) and sign some of my favorite washed-up MLB players, to give them one last chance in an independent league. So yeah, sentimental about real players in a fictional season.

Even after all these years I still think of this story every time I see one of my old players sitting in the free agents list unsigned just waiting for someone to give them one last chance.
