Dynamic camera!
Did they have this in 21? If they did I missed it. Playing my first game and the camera changes are phenomenal. Loving it !

If I may, what are you settings set for in game? Or did you keep the default?

This is all new. It came together well - You should have seen some of the camera cuts early in development on it. We probably shouldn't have hired this guy to help https://twitter.com/Cut4/status/1367924019693903872

It's an interesting concept and I commend the first effort, but it is going to require some work. Way too many quick cut shots and it's hard to follow. I used it for like 5 minutes and realized there is no way I could watch a whole game like this. Going to need to work out some of the smoothness and flow, but again I like the idea.

I am glad they are doing the work but nothing ruins immersion more than the camera panning to an angle where I can't see the action. Example is a hit to the outfield and the camera zooms in the cut off throw and I have no idea where the runner is and then when the throw goes to 3rd or home it somehow swings to the outfield view with the absolute furthest view of the play.
Now, when it works it's cool and I called my wife over a few times to watch replays and I even fired up the version with the little bowling pins (what I called them a few years ago) and said "look how far they've came!"

It would be great if they could open up the dynamic camera settings and let us tinker/edit them to our own preferences. For the life of me a simple fix would be to set any throw to first to immediately cut the the 1st Base camera instead of that silly outfield camera. Could do the same to any throw to third for the 3B camera.

Per someone else's suggestion I turned off "follow ball" and that seemed to help. Still quick jumps but not as bad IMHO.
I also added quite a few camera views. I have a cameras between 1b and 2b, and also 2b and 3b that are looking in from the OF just a few yards behind the IF dirt. The dynamic camera selected these for almost all ground balls. From this it seemed the AI knew the ball was staying in the IF and then selected my closer IF cameras where, before I added them I was getting the far away LF or RF line views. I was happy to see the dynamic camera use my added cameras as much if not more than the default cameras. The only one of my cameras that looked bad was if it tried to use my blimp camera. It would do so while also zooming in. Yes, I get the runners advancing with no view of the ball too. Best fix so far is to click off the dynamic camera and then hit f10 to watch the replay. Not perfect but worth it IMHO to have this new feature. I'm sure it will improve over time. If it was improved with this first patch then I would think we'll see some changes over the patch cycle this year. In short, the first game I played I thought "meh". Second game I turned off "follow ball" and added my custom cameras and really liked using it, even with the short comings being talked about here. One last thing I love about it is it shows off the new stadiums from many angles you simply would not see without it. |

Fyi for something like a blimp cam you don't want to switch to, in the park editor where you edit cameras you can unselect it as a possible action camera.

This is good to know thank you, I was wondering if the camera angles were locked or not glad we have even more ways to play around with this. |

I may have to play around with the settings, but I'm finding that I really can't play with either "follow ball" or dynamic settings on.
The timing of the camera changes are just too abrupt and it often takes me a split second to get oriented after every change. There is no, I don't know how to explain it, but there is no natural flow to camera sequences option. I'm going to keep playing with it, but this option may require a lot of work for me to ever use. The follow ball option, is too herky-jerky. The camera adjusts very quickly and roughly during a play. If there was a way to smooth out the camera movement it would make this option better. So far, the 3d upgrades have me "meh". Don't get me wrong I love this game and support the project, but viewing games isn't as immersive for me in 22, so far. I'll keep working on it. These are my initial impressions and by no means my final verdict. |

Turn FPS to match your monitor. The default is 45 and it was jerky for me.. once I changed it to 60 to match my monitor, it's much better.

Hmm, I updated to 11.2.3 on my MAC and it is still jerky. Played with the FPS and it's not noticeably better. It's also crashed twice, so I'm done for now. Maybe it is something on my end, but something just feels off and the crashes are now frustrating. I'll come back and try again later.

I have a 144 hz monitor so i set mine to unlimited and it cleared up the issues. So play with the frames until it looks smooth.

I am with those who gave it a try and then turned it off. It just made the action too difficult to follow. I tried all combinations of Dynamic Camera and Ball Following and eventually disabled both. It's a shame because I'd like to see more of a broadcast-type execution, but it just was too erratic.
