Impossible Trading

In past versions I would have my trade setting at hard. On this years version I currently have my trading set at the easiest and I still can't get any trades that make sense. For example, I offered a 5 star player for a .5 star player and the other team responded with this is horrible trade offer. What am I doing wrong here?

It's not hard to imagine that a team might regard any offer for some players as "horrible". Would the Red Sox have listened to offers for Ted Williams?

I’d have to assume it’s contract-related as mentioned above. That seems to make more of a difference in my limited experience so far.

Trading seems a little tougher, but not as bad as I was expecting based on reports. I fired up a new 2021 season as the Giants, and my very first move was trading Johnny Cueto to the Cubs (retaining 100%) for Brailyn Marquez and Brennan Davis. In my opinion that is absolute grand larceny. So, perhaps play with salary retention?

The timing plays a major role aswell. Like mentioned in another thread: At the beginning of the season the Cubs wouldn't have traded Baez in any 1 for 1 deal. Not even for Acuña. At the trade deadline I would have been able to trade for him for Swanson and two prospects.

Shop that player and see if anyone is interested at all. Might be a bad contract.

I think im usuing default settings and find it pretty real.
Ive been trying to trade Randal Grichuk for 2 years, have only received one offer- a worse contract.
