High Incidence of Errors

I don't see any threads on this so maybe it's only me or the rustiness of April play is being modeled

I've played 11 games, standard 2021 MLB start, have not touched any error settings. Errors per game (both teams added):

The bug report forum is here

If you feel this is an error, no pun intended, it will get addressed much faster if you post in the proper forum.

No, I'm just looking for feedback from other users to see if they are seeing anything similar.

As I say, it could be random chance.

If i did the math right that is around 1.6 errors per game and it looks like on average MLB is about 1.2 errors per game. That 11 game sample size is a little high, but I could see it evening out closer to the MLB average over the complete season in league. If you had the 2019 Mariners vs the 2020 Pirates defense in those games they averages combined ~1.59 errors per game together.

**I used MLBTeamRankings to get the data

Also what needs to be looked at: errors leaguewide. Maybe your team is just a poor defensive team, or you've been playing against poor defensive teams.

Small sample that is slightly high. In game go to statistics/team statistics/fielding and scroll down to see the current E totals vs games played. Divide that GP by 2 to get the league E rate comparable to the above sample.

In a sim I just ran (it wasn't 2021, but I have "Adjust League Modifiers for Accuracy" unchecked), I'm showing 1.05 errors per game. I think 11 games (out of 4860 total in a full season) is way too small a sample size to go off of.

The league as a whole is 1.15 so all is good.

Agree on the small sample size of course, but it seemed unusual; the team are good fielders all round. I guess one's perception of these things is also colored by how the error affects the game situation. That last game with 4 errors was hard to swallow

Thanks folks.

LOL I think now of that 7th inning 2015 Tex v Toronto with 3 errors. I'm sure if I was on the wrong side of that in OOTP I'd be spitting fireballs.
