Importing teams from 2 leagues into a third league
I am undertaking a project in which I play two 40-team leagues and then want to take a select number of teams from both leagues and put them into a third, postseason league.
Anybody do anything like this that wouldn't mind giving me some pointers, please contact me at Richnamanda@earthilink.net I initially just copied one of the leagues (Call it League 1) to make the third league and set it up as a 32-team league. I still needed to import the teams from League 2, however, and have been unable to do so successfully. Do we use the export to CSV option from the two leagues and then the import from CSV to create the files in the third league? If I do it this way, will the teams be up to date as far as the injured players will still be injured and so on? Any input is appreciated.

I'm sorry, but I don't believe it is possible at present to import a team from one league file into a different league file.
The CSV import/export isn't intended to do that sort of thing, it's more for editing players and rosters and such. There are a lot of people though who would very much like to move teams from one league to another, so you're not the only one who'd like to be able to do this... |

OK ... I appreciate the feedback.
I'm thinking if I export the files, can I then re-number the players in the roster and match those numbers up to their pitching and hitting files? Huge undertaking, yes, but if I were to combine, say, only the top eight teams from each of the two 40-team files, wouldn't it be possible?

OK ... I've got two sets of export files and I've got an idea that may work. If it does, I'll share if anybody's interested. I'll know more after the weekend so somebody keep this post alive so I don't lose it.
Ideas are appreciated, too.

Well you're in luck. Pierre just updated his Player Editor utility to work with OOTP5 and you can now import players and teams with it.
You can read about it here: http://www.400softwarestudios.com/bo...threadid=32718 With it, you should be able to do what you're aiming for. |

Yes, just did it and was very pleased to see that teams from another league were imported.
Pierre is my hero.
