Pitching Rotation not being followed

Hey all -

Hope all is well. Just like the title states. I just had German Marquez pitch, and if wasn't going over the results, he was slotted to pitch again, with 19% rest. Is this a known issue? Is this happening to other players?

I've had this issue in my historical league. I set the lineup to "start the best-rested," but the AI chooses a guy who just pitched a day or two ago. I can override it when I play out the game, but it's annoying.

same

Hadn't seen this thread - here's what I'd posted (now deleted) elsewhere...
---
This is happening for both my (AI managed) MLB team (playing the 2021 season), my minor league team (the A-SE didn't have a default opening day that delayed by a month for some reason - will remember that for later), and also to some other teams not related to "me". I have verified that there are other fully rested starters in the rotation prior to the game, etc...
The game indicates that (say) the #3 starter will pitch that day, but when you click "play game", the #2 guy is on the mound. I have a workaround, in that I can force the previous day's pitchers to take the day off, but that's unwieldy at best.
It doesn't happen every time. Will happen a game or three in a row, then not for a week or so, then happens again. Unrelated to double headers or staff workloads.

EDIT: Occurs both pre- and post- the most recent patch (34).

Can you upload a save where this is happening and indicate the specific games it's happening in on that day? That will help us take a look an narrow down what might be going on. Thanks!

Done! (notfollowingrotation.zip)
One example is Montreal starting Joe Musgrove on 4/15 vs MIN, the second straight day where he had done so. A minor league example would be Orlando (A-SE) starting, from the 15th to the 18th: James, Arredondo, James, Arredondo.

Thanks!

In your case, it appears that you are using 7-day lineups, and do not sit the SP or clear the lineups after use. So that is running Musgrove on back to back days since presumably earlier in the year he was set that day in the lineups, and it's re-using them each week even if that happens to be back to back days.

That was only true for the minor league team - the major league club did not use 7 day lineups.
Additionally, I saw pitcher repetition that did not fit the ABCDEABABC... model for that same minor league staff.

Edit: oh wow. As you knew, I was using 7 day lineups. That was never intended.
While I did see things that wouldn’t fit that pattern, I’m going to assume that that’s the cause of my issues. Hopefully it is for others as well; thanks!
