Most number of teams in a fictional league
I was wondering what is the largest number of teams any of you have put in one of your fictional leagues? I have a 40 team league, which I find both a nuisance and exhilarating. OOTP supports up to 5000 teams in one league.

With 5,000 you probably want to unclick the "balanced schedule" box.

I’ve tried with 300+ but my computer always crashes. This is on a “gaming” laptop too, so hoping OOTP 22’s 64-bit whatever can help with that! I may just have to break down the alignment into multiple leagues in an association though just so the league can function. But I really hope to have them all in one division so that standings/rankings include all teams!
To answer the original question though, I’ve had no trouble with 100 teams in a league (and single division). |

My ACBA is a single league with 100 teams.
My TBA is an Association with 324 spread over 50 leagues. I've got the latest MacBook Pro that is pretty souped up, so no problems so far with speed. File size, on the other hand, becomes problematic fairly quickly, especially with Facegens deployed. |

I only have 32 teams in my fictional league, but it is a beast trying to manually track out-of-game stats with just that many teams. After each day, I maintain spreadsheets and docs for stats like largest/smallest attendance, grand slams, ejections, starting pitcher tough losses/cheap wins, reliever clean outings, etc. There are plans to create an 8-team league for promotion and relegation to/from the current 32-team league, but I certainly won't be tracking the stats for the second-tier league.
